Levy's Straps have come through again, as always! This is a really nice strap that goes excellently with an old Fender A/E Tele I've had laying about. The leather is soft and thich enough to be as durable as all the other Levy's Straps I have. The Rivits are a cool embellishment that adds a little intrest and really sets it off. Another definate winner from Levy's

Ernie Ball 2051 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Silk and Steel 12-String Soft Acoustic Guitar Strings Review

My old Martin 12 string had been sitting in its case for nearly 7 years. The strings were rusted, the wood had cracked and the sound was terrible. I had lost all hope of returning the instrument to its original sound. My son decided to have the guitar restored and I ordered these strings hoping for the bright rich tone I remembered it having when I first bought it. The strings did not disappoint and I am excited to add this 30 year old instrument to my collection of playable guitars. The strings made the guitar much easier to play and I would recommend them without a second thought to any musician with a 12 string acoustic.

Outstanding Guitar for the money. Sounds great unplugged but really sings off an amp with the built in stringer pick up. Nice having the on board tuner as well. High quality in a mid-priced guitar.

Oscar Schmidt OG2CETR Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar Review

Oscar Schmidt OG2CETR Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar

I am currently happy with this item, but there are some things you must first know about it:
1. The 9V battery for the pickup is only accessible through the small sound hole. You must loosen and spread the strings to get to it. The battery had fallen off during shipping and was rattling around in the body when I got it, but no damage was done.
2. The pickup seems to be just a microphone attached to the bridge area inside the body. When I play and I get too close to my amp or too loud, I get loud feedback. If I shout at the bridge, I can hear my voice a bit. Sometimes when shifting the body in my hands or sliding my fingers up the factory strings, I can hear it on the amp. This, however, is only at high volumes. Playing at a reasonable volume, however, it sounds fine. Just don't expect to play a loud gig with this.
3. The strings that came with it were terrible, and they came factory installed in a really slipshod fashion. Essentially, they had tied a knot at the end of the string, fed it through the bridge hole, and wound it around the peg. When I tried to tune the high string, it kept pulling through the hole. I went and bought a set of Martin crystal strings and they look, feel and play much better. That also eliminated the sound I heard on the pickup when sliding my fingers up the strings. I also strung them up by using the over, under, over, under method common to classical guitar stringing. I have also read a suggestion that using a different, larger knot will also solve the problem. I did not try that.
Since I have gone through these three items, I have been playing it for two evenings straight and have no other problems not common to all ukuleles. Yes, you will need to tune it every 5 minutes for the first few hours of play, the strings will settle in after you've tuned it a couple dozen times. This is normal.

I expected the CD case with picture and info of the CD. Just got a CD copy in a CD envelope. I believe copywright laws are being broken. Too much money for a 5 cent copy.

Art & Lutherie Ami Cedar Black Acoustic Guitar Review

Art and Lutherie Ami Cedar Black Acoustic Guitar

I'm not saying it's a finer instrument than my Martin 00-16DB, which I adore, but I play it more, both around the house, and even when performing live these days. And it's the perfect instrument to take to jam sessions, parties, etc. or when traveling.
A friend, who has about 40 mostly high-end guitars, brought one of these A&L Ami cedar tops over to my house and put it in my hands. I couldn't believe how great it sounded... and loud... and how nicely it played, for such a tiny price. I paid $[...] for mine a couple years back (not through Amazon). I see they're a bit more expensive these days. But even for $[...], this is one supremely playable, nice sounding little guitar.
The only work I had done was a simple undersaddle pickup installed, plus I installed brass string pins which made the sound a bit louder, brighter and have more sustain. The intonation was and remains spot on. I am even using it for some songs when recording. Running through a decent pre-amp, this thing sounds really good live. Here's a link to a live performance using this guitar.[...]I also have a Seagull Coastline Grand Parlor, also made by Godin (as is the Ami). It's got a cedar top as well with laminate sides and back, and also plays and sounds very very good. It has 14 frets (which I sometimes need) rather than the 12 the Ami has. But the Seagull is almost twice as expensive .. and certainly doesn't sound or play twice as good. So, unless you really need 14 frets, I'd go with the Ami.
This is a great instrument for anyone wanting an inexpensive but great playing/sounding 'travel' or jam guitar. But don't be surprised if it ends up being one of your favorite instruments.

I went to guitar center and played several different guitars ranging in price from $250 to $5000 and the ovation gc 057 (being one of them) had a better feel and sound then several guitars ranging in price from $250 to $1000 so much so that I bought it on the spot. I highly recommend this guitar for anyone. It is a great guitar for a great price.
